In my time developing open source-based web systems, I have had the opportunity to work with an outstanding collection of organizations completing a variety of web and IT-related projects. To preserve client privacy, it is not possible to discuss all of the projects in a level of detail I would like on this public website, but I would be happy to share a more specific portfolio information in private.
Linux Administration and Intranet Systems for a Large Chicago Social Services Provider
Over the past several years I have provided IT and programming support for this agency, including maintence of their web, firewall, email, VPN, LDAP infestructure, as well as and windows/Linux integration technologies. I have also served a role in maintaining their large existing intranet database system based on PHP and MySQL.
HIPAA Secure Internet File Server for a Chicago Area Hospital
I am proud to have had the opportunity recently to build a system which gives the client's employees the ability to exchange sensitive data with external sites via a secure connection. The system—built using Python and Django—allows users to exchange files via the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) using a web interface. To ensure confidentiality the system has fine-grained access controls and a capabilities-based security model.
Corporate websites in Drupal
Using the Drupal Content Mangement System, I have developed corporate websites for several organizations. It is no longer enough for companies to have "portfolio" websites that serve static content that is rarely changed. An organization's web presence is now a very significant part of its connection with the public. It is imperative that the content of a website is timely, and that it provides information about the current activites of the organization. Websites also serve as a vital source of feedback from the public. Drupal is a very powerful platform upon which to build websites that clients without technical skills can update, and with which the public can interact. I am eager for the opportunity to apply my experience building Drupal websites to your organization's needs.
